What Container do I need?

There are numerous types of containers, each with a specific purpose. When planning a journey, it is important to know which type you need. Standard containers are 8 ft by 20 ft with 40ft options existing too.

Double Door

Has doors on both ends to make loading and unloading easier. Ideal for oversized cargo but can also be sectioned into two separate containers.

Reefer

A refrigerated container for perishable goods. Ideal for fresh and frozen food goods and pharmaceuticals.

High Cube

These are taller than normal containers, with an additional foot in height. Perfect for taller machinery that may not fit through doors on a standard container.

Platform

Platforms have no walls or containers and are designed to carry heavy, oversized and uniquely shaped cargo safely.

FlatRack

Flatracks have open sides and roofs to be easily accessible to cranes and forklifts. Perfect for large machinery, or building materials and other heavier loads.

Open Top

Has a removable tarpaulin roof to allow top loading via a crane or crab bucket. Preferred for larger items that cannot fit in normal doors and bulk materials.

Half Height

Typically open top, they are much shorter allowing centre of gravity- essential for heavier goods. These are ideal for construction and mining.

Ventilated

They are designed to ensure air circulation and prevent moisture build up and mold. With special vents, they ensure this whilst protecting the cargo from insects and weather. Traditionally used for agricultural products and general storage of food, lumber and volatile chemicals.

Isotank

Isotanks are tanks that have a metal frame the size of a container built around them. They offer different models to suit different liquids, gases and chemicals.

Dry Van

The most standard model of container, these are designed with a wide range of goods in mind that do not require temperature regulation.

Openside

They have full side access and are used for goods that cannot fit through the narrow end doors.

Car carrier

As the name implies, used to carry vehicles. There a range of sizes available depending on the number of cars wished to transport. A typical model can carry 1-2 vehicles.
