China’s Golden Week second Reminder
In 2 weeks, China will be celebrating their Golden Week. During this time (1st October- 7th October), factories across China will close and ports will be operating at reduced capacity.
It is important to recognise that over this period, attempts at booking shipments from China over this week may not be possible. Operations outside of China across South, East and South East Asia remain active. Ports across Thailand, Vietnam, India, Malaysia and South Korea will still be operating at full capacity.
What does this mean?
The weeks before may see a rise in demand for container space aboard vessels, and blank sailings over the Golden Week. It is important over this period to plan ahead and make bookings as soon as possible and avoid the risk of missing a vessel. Demand may continue following the week , so planning remains instrumental.
