Dubai Office Updates
Trinity Logistics established a hotdesk in Dubai last year, and have since continued to develop their presence there this year.
Following our entry into the Dubai market last year, CEO Amanda, and commercial director Sarah recently had the opportunity to take a trip earlier in May. Whilst there, they were involved in several meetings with accountants, connections and building new and hopefully long-lasting relationships.
This trip served as a wonderful reminder you can build some of the best relationship in unexpected ways, with our team meeting an unexpected connection at the poolside during some downtime. Impressed by the duo, decided to continue the chat in official meetings just days later.
Hopefully, this trip will become one of many, with Dubai becoming a major base of operations in the future.
Navigating the Crisis in the Middle East
The arrival of this office has come at an instrumental time, with the ongoing troubles in the middle east. The ongoing crisis has disrupted shipping routes around the Middle East, with the Strait of Hormuz closed and shipping companies actively avoiding the Red Sea. The global oil industry has been affected drastically, with tankers being stopped and refineries and oil fields being actively attacked.
What does this mean for shipping?
Our team are working hard to respond to these ongoing issues to ensure disruptions remain as minimal as possible, whilst maintaining the safety of any stock transited and the resilient crew and ships that carry the cargo.
When shipping a good these factors are important to consider;
- Shipping is avoiding the Red Sea and Suez Canal and is now traversing around the Cape of Good Hope so expect longer lead time for shipping.
- This crisis has caused a backlog due to delays so there is currently more demand for container space and air freighting. Plan further ahead and book as early as possible to guarantee space.
- Fuel prices are fluctuating constantly with each shipping company offering different rates to respond to this. Although we cannot guarantee prices will remain the same, our team is devoted to keep rising costs as low as possible making use of the best shipping companies.
We understand this is a difficult time so we ask that if planning to ship to commit as early as possible as delays on the journey and ports remain possible. If you need support planning your shipping, please contact us.
