Golden Week 2026

Each Year China celebrates their golden week, during this time production across the country stops to allow celebratory events and encourage local tourism.

This year, China is celebrating their golden week between 1st and 7th October. During this time, production completely stops and action across the ports halts. Vessels remain in port during this time with no journeys occurring.

This will produce delays on goods entering the UK and Europe until port activity resumes. When planning shipments in coming months it is important for firms to consider this celebration and allot additional time to ensure cargo arrives on time.

During this time our office in China, will be unavailable as they celebrate their national week.

Contact your freight forwarders today and we can support the planning process.
