Port Congestion Worsens
Port Congestion worsens across many major ports across the Far East, which is then causing delays in European ports.
Schedule reliability across China and East Asia are reaching lowest figures since 2022. The ports of Shanghai, Singapore and Ningbo are some of the worst affected.
This comes following a string of extreme weather patterns across East Asia as Typhoon Season comes into full effect. Surprisingly, despite being Golden Week in China , 1.5 million TEU capacity of goods have been scheduled to ship. This is believed to be due to severe vessel bunching that is causing several ships to leave port at similar times.
Over time, this is expected to begin to recover assuming no further delays occur, as demand decreases.
With this level of port disruption, blank sailing remain constant in attempts to repair the schedules.
These delays are placing additional burdens on major European ports as vessel bunching delays berthing times.
Currently, UK ports remain fully operational without any expected delays.
